Abyssal Escape Killer

2011x

2011x is the Abyssal Escape killer that punishes players who treat a chase as a straight line. The run cycle changes what a safe tile is, so routes that work against other killers get you caught here.

How 2011x pressures survivors

Most Abyssal Escape killers threaten a fixed shape: a corridor, a radius, a line you learn to stay out of. 2011x does not. Its run cycle lets it re-approach from a direction you already cleared, which means the usual habit of "I looked back, it was gone" is the exact habit that gets you caught.

The pressure is therefore mental before it is mechanical. Survivors who keep re-checking the same corner lose objective time, and 2011x converts that lost time into a closed gap without ever needing to be faster than you.

Do not run a straight line to the exit if 2011x is on the map. A cycle-based killer predicts straight movement better than any other killer in the roster.

Safe distance and angles

Hold roughly a full screen segment between you and the killer, and prefer corners over open floor. Corners force a re-approach to commit to a side, and that commitment is the only reliable read you get on where the next cycle lands.

Open rooms are the opposite: they give every angle at once, so a cycle can arrive from whichever direction is least covered. If you are wounded and have to choose between an open room and a corner you have not checked, take the corner.

How survivors should coordinate

Against 2011x, splitting the team works better than grouping, but only if you pre-agree the plan. Two survivors on separate objectives force two separate approach vectors and expose the cycle timing far faster than four people stacked in one hallway.

  • Call the cycle, not the killer. "Cycle ended" is actionable; "behind you" is not.
  • Save a mobility tool for the window right after a cycle, which is when the gap is shortest.
  • Never both burn defensive tools on the same pass — that is how a single cycle removes two survivors.
If you only remember one thing: 2011x is beaten by pattern-reading, not by sprinting. Watch where it re-appears, not where it was.

Common questions

Is 2011x the same as 2017x?

No. They are separate killers in the Abyssal Escape roster with different run cycles. 2017x is covered on its own profile page.

What is the best survivor against it?

Anything with a reposition tool you can hold for the post-cycle window. See the ability reference for cooldowns.

Does 2011x counter camping?

Effectively yes. Because the cycle re-approaches from a cleared direction, holding one tile is the worst response to it.
