How toPlay
Abyssal Escape is an eight-player asymmetrical horror game on Roblox. One side hunts, the other side is trying to leave. Here is the whole loop before you queue.
Role one
Survivors
Survivors win by finishing the map objectives and getting out before the red mist closes the round. Coordination is the actual mechanic — a lone survivor who clears objectives slowly loses even when they are good at chases.
- Each survivor brings one ability; see abilities.
- Objectives unlock the exit window, they do not open it instantly.
- Sound is information. Most catches start with a survivor ignoring a cue.
Role two
The killer
The killer spends the round breaking up the survivor team and stalling objective progress. Every killer in the roster pressures a different part of that loop, which is why the tier list is ranked by pressure rather than raw strength.
- Killers do not need to eliminate everyone to win.
- Objective denial is usually worth more than a catch.
- Phase timing decides whether a kill matters at all.
The round loop
A round runs on a clock and moves through phases. Early on, survivors are free to spread and take objectives. Mid-round, the exit conditions become reachable and the killer shifts from harassment to denial. Late, the window closes and anyone still inside the arena has effectively already lost.
That structure is the single most useful thing to internalise before your first ten rounds, because it changes what "playing well" means. Clearing an objective fast in the final phase is worse than clearing one slowly in the first, and new players consistently get this backwards.
How a round ends
Survivors escape through the exit once its conditions are met, and the round ends when the clock runs out or everyone is accounted for. Use the escape timer to learn where those boundaries sit — recognising the phase transition mid-chase is the skill that separates survivors who make it from survivors who almost make it.
